WAIIS Digital Transformation TWG — Digital Embassy & summit pipeline
Digital Transformation TWG Confirms Digital Embassy as Priority Product for WAIIS Summit
The Digital Transformation Technical Working Group has confirmed the Digital Embassy as a priority product to carry forward to the WAIIS Summit, 16–19 November 2026 in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Regionally endorsed under the ECOWAS economic integration agenda, the Digital Embassy represents a concrete initiative to advance digital public infrastructure across West Africa. It is one of four summit pillars that together form the WAIIS investment pipeline.
Private Sector Advisory Board Launched
The TWG launched a Private Sector Advisory Board to guide the digital investment agenda, with explicit opportunities for SMEs and mid-sized firms. The board will help ensure the pipeline reflects real market demand and operational priorities.
Deal-Room Approach to Investor Readiness
A deal-room approach has been adopted to structure digital investment opportunities for investor readiness. This means projects will be prepared, packaged, and presented to financiers and strategic partners in a format aligned with their due diligence requirements — increasing the likelihood of successful capital deployment.
Next Milestone
An innovation workshop is planned for Freetown in September/October 2026, ahead of the November Summit. This workshop will further develop the Digital Embassy concept and prepare projects for the deal room.
How to Engage
Project sponsors, investors, and technical partners are invited to submit expressions of interest via the WAIIS digital platform — the single entry point for the project pipeline. Registration for the Summit is also open.
